PBO Minutes

March 6, 2007

 

Meeting called to order by Todd @7:05

 

There were 9 board members present and 4 non-board members.

Previous minutes were accepted by Jason, seconded by John.

 

Treasurers Report

We have between $9000 and $10000 in the bank. Little League will pay for the web page this year since PBO paid it last year. We need to pay $188.00 toward the fee for use of the Middle School cafeteria from sign-ups. (Possibly next year only have weeknight sign-ups to save this cost). Motion to accept the Treasurers Report made by Bud, seconded by Rick.

 

League Reports

Senior Legion

  • Umpire contract officially approved by Strohecker
  • Next meeting in April

 

Senior Babe Ruth

  • Jim Madl went to last Sundays meeting – nothing to report

 

Junior Legion

  • Rob and Rick are trying to get the team into tournaments, West Lawn and Reading

 

City County

  • Birdsboro and Douglassville merged under the Daniel Boone Athletic Association
  • Teams have the option of having a 10th man in the batting order for games
  • Games start the Wednesday before or after Memorial Day – they will have a schedule next month

 

Babe Ruth

  • Bill Reeder went to the meeting – nothing to report

 

13 Year-Old Prep

  • Chuck Bleakley went, Todd has their schedule
  • Their fee is needed next month

 

Fundraising

Harleysville is only giving us $1000.00 this year. We need to pick one or two fundraisers and do them NOW!

1)      Wawa hoagie coupons – have ready for try-outs – about 100 or so – buy more once teams are formed. Motion by John, seconded by Rick. Todd will call Bonnie to take care of getting the coupons

2)      Texas Roadhouse – hand out paper with dates at try-outs – Wednesday, April 11th will be the date and Todd will set it up with the restaurant. We will also put coupons on the website for people to download.

3)      Jason will take care of the banners ASAP.

 

Old Business

Any website changes send to John ASAP.

 

New Business

Tom Rokosny nominated as the Babe Ruth coach. Motion made by John, seconded by Bud.

 

Father’s Day Tournament – June 15-17. Everyone is needed to help – snack bar, field prep, 50/50 raffle, etc.

 

Add to by-laws

Ψ      policy on drugs and alcohol by players -use wording from Parents Code of Conduct – we need to come up with specific consequences.

Ψ      rules on double rostering – allegiance to primary team first

 

Bill Shepherd requested he be given back his late fee from signing his son up since he claimed not to know about the dates. Board vote – 7 no, 1 yes.

 

Possible change to wording of registration for next year – early registration a discounted rate of $125 13-15, $200 16-19. After a specific date, the fee is the regular price of $150 13-15, $225 16-19.

 

Try-outs March 24th and March 25th – all coaches need to attend for all ages to help rate the players.
