League Reports

Senior Legion

  • Jason may be finished coaching for a while (maybe just one year off). He will let the board know by February.
  • Team finished 21 & 12 for the regular season – 2 & 2 in the play-offs.

Junior Legion

  • All Star game went well – Rick still has about 12 t-shirts left – profit from game was between $250.00 and $300.00.

City County

  • Had All-Star game at the Reading Phillies stadium.
  • Team went to play-offs – came in third
  • Banquet was last Sunday
  • Record for team – 10 & 6 – came in fourth
  • Very good season

Babe Ruth

  • Nothing to report

Fundraising

  • Boston Market fundraiser will be in September (week of 9/23)

New Business

  • We will give a $50.00 gift certificate to Joel B. for a dinner to thank him for all of his help with the tournaments
  • $50.00 also to Don Young for maintaining the fields
    • John made a motion to give the gift certificates and Howard seconded.
  • Todd will go to the next school board meeting to thank them for their help
  • Al brought up the problems with the trash at the pool field. Also, often there was no lime in the box to line the field before games – start next season with more lime and dirt for the mound
  • We want to put in to host the 2009 Junior Legion regionals – Todd and John will talk to Mike K. to see how the plans for the new baseball complex are coming (or possible use of the High School and Ringing Rocks fields). We would need to put in for the games at least one year in advance to be considered. The school board will probably want a cut of the profits. Todd will find out.
  • Fall Ball
    • Boyertown has two levels of play – regular and advanced levels. It will be for 13-15 year olds. (Tuesday and Thursday nights)
    • Jim Madl offered to coach if we need him.
    • They are having a tournament on October 5th to 7th. It will be $400.00 if we want to send a team.
    • We can offer the pool field for weekends.
    • Possible cost - $50.00 per player – John will find out more.
  • Clearances were never handed in from several coaches.
    • Joe C. or his assistants
    • Jim M. – only one
    • Greg M. – only one

NO clearances, NO coaching!!!!!

o       For next season, April 30th deadline to hand them in. If someone wants to coach they should start getting the clearances right away.

o       Produce clearances or proof of sending them in for this 2007 season by August 15th or be suspended for one year – vote – Yes 4, No 3. Motion carried.

Motion made to adjourn @9:18 by Howard, seconded by Chris.
