Meeting called to order by Todd @7:33

 

There were 9 board members and 1 non-board members present.

 

 John accepted last months minutes, seconded by Howard.

 Bud accepted the Treasurers report, seconded by John.

 

League Reports

Senior Legion

  • Jason might be able to coach this year – he will let us know at the January meeting
  • Concordville may leave the league
  • Twin Valley went to Berks Legion
  • Paoli may leave the league

 

Senior Babe Ruth

  • Jim Madl wants to coach again this year

 

Junior Legion

  • Nothing until January

 

13 Year Old Prep

  • Nothing to report

 

City County

  • Pottstown Pal wants to get back in the league – Todd will call Drumheller to see what is going on – maybe the players could come to our team instead.
  • Todd will call Carl to ask where the Pal kids could be coming from for the Pottstown team.

 

Babe Ruth

  • Nothing to report

 

Fundraising

  • Boston Market – still waiting for the check.
  • As soon as Howard sets up the next Boston Market dates, John wants them to post on the web.
  • Reading Phillies fundraising information needs to be ready for registration – it will also be put on the website.
  • Basket Auction – start working on donations. Howard will call Jessica for a date. Hopefully the information will be ready in time for registration. It needs to be promoted as an event for men and women.
  • Any other fundraising ideas? Howard will consider all suggestions, just let him know.
  • Banner renewals need to go out now.
  • Shirts for the parents to purchase at registration saying “Pottsgrove Falcons” or “Proud Pottsgrove Mom”, etc. need to be made up.

 

New Business

·        Welcome to new board members.

·        Todd may coach an AAU team in Bally. He will not take any Pottsgrove players. He prefers to coach the Pottsgrove Sr. Legion team if Jason doesn’t coach, but if Jason coaches, Todd will go to Bally for the season.

·        Coaches interested for this season – Jason or Todd – Senior Legion, Jim Madl – Sr. Babe Ruth, George Gantert - Junior Legion, Al Gentile or Tom Rokosny – City County, Babe Ruth and Jr. Legion will need a coach.

·        Vote on coaches at the next meeting.

·        Child Abuse and Criminal checks – list of people who need background checks.

·        Audit is done and everything is ok – motion made by Bud to accept and seconded by Howard.

o       Recommendation: check number with bills – this was started this month by the treasurer.

o       Audit accepted – all Yes, none opposed.

·        Registration

o       Form was reviewed by everyone – bottom of Code of Conduct – add that ALL family members agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.

o       Fees – possibly – 13-15 - $150.00 and 16-19 - $225.00 – up $25.00 from last year. We will decide for sure at the January meeting after Chris checks with bills for the month, i.e., registrations collected last year, then the cost of umpires, equipment and uniforms.

o       Put on Pie Chart – grand total spent divided by the 90 kids who played to show parents exactly how the money was spent. Also show what other leagues charge – we are at the bottom with our fees.

o       Have parents register in person rather than through the mail so they can see the reasons for the raise in fees.

o       Dates of Registration: Tuesday and Thursday with Little League – 2 nights and the next week after that.

 

·        Rick has information on a coach’s clinic. Todd is going with the school coaches.

 

Harleysville Bank wants pictures of the banner – Todd will add the pictures to the letter he is sending to them. (Possibly more money from them?) Todd will type the letter and e-mail it to John who will put it on the PBO letterhead and print it on good paper.

 

Next meeting – January 8th @7pm at school.
