Senior Legion
Fathers Day Tournament – confirmation checks are due
by the end of the month. So far we have: New Jersey, Georgia, West
Chester, Kennett, Pottsgrove, York County and possibly New York in
the tournament. Six teams are confirmed @450.00 per team. On Friday
night there will be two games played @3:30 and two games played
@6:00.
We need A LOT of help. Monies raised go into the PBO
General Fund.
Senior Babe
nothing to report
Junior Legion
Memorial Day Tournament – George is putting up $100 to
play and his father (Sylvan Learning Center) is putting up the other
$300. He would like to have Sylvan’s name on the shirt for the
donation. Jason – accept, Bud – seconded.
City County
Not enough players to field a team this year
Babe Ruth
Jason Coyne will coach this team
April 9th will be a league meeting
13-Year Old Prep
Not enough players to field a team this year
It is open for us to come back next year
Fundraising
Boston Market check arrived - $355.49.
501C will probably not happen for this year
Banner checks – letters out? Howard will double check.
Some people didn’t receive them yet.
Basket Auction – Jessica is working on it. The date
will be May 16th. We will advertise on PCTV, Phoenixville
paper. They will try to have flyers printed by try-outs. Jason will
get a copy of the flyer to Todd who will take it to the Admin office
to see if it is ok to send home with the elementary students.
Old Business
PAL/CC – no team for them with City County. They will
have an AAU team.
Try-outs – Saturday and Sunday of this week. Players
who want to be on a legion team MUST attend TWO try-outs. If there
are problems with attending both days, we will work in a time to
give the players their second try-out.
We need people to be at the try-outs both days.
New Business
Lower Township Meeting – Bud went – we need to fill
out a Request for Facilities Permit when using the new field – we
can’t use it this year anyway – it will be opened in Spring of 2009.
Refund – Quigley, two new players will sign up on
Saturday, all forms are due by Saturday.
Players may be double rostered, but not triple
rostered. Rosters turned in to the league must be handed in to the
board also – Coaches MUST submit a copy to the board - Jason –
motion, John – seconded.
Bud asked at the Lower Twsp Mtg. that one PBO team be
allowed to use the new field for practices and games next year –
soccer and LL both agreed. Possibly one or two teams could use it as
their home field – Jr and Sr Legion?
Township acquired land through grants at Bleim and
Pruss Hill Roads and the Snell Road property. They hope to make a
full soccer complex at one and a baseball complex at the other. We
need to let them know how many players are in our organization and
name and address of the PBO contact person.
Someone needs to keep going to the Lower twsp.
meetings to keep on top of this. We should have more people going to
show our interest.
Bud gave the secretary a copy of the ordinance to put
in the binder.
St. Pius is using Manderach Park field instead of the
pool field this year.
Todd’s Bally team wants to use the pool field on
Sunday’s from 12-2 p.m. or
1-3 p.m. They will maintain the
field. We can have them make the needed
repairs. The fence needs to be
repaired and the hole in the outfield needs to be
taken care of before Pottsgrove
teams start. Once Pottsgrove teams start, Bally
will either work around them or
stop using the field altogether. Motion for the
Bally team to use the pool field
by Howard, seconded by Bud, Jason abstained.
Trash needs to be picked up and cans emptied EVERY
game. It MUST be done if we are going to be allowed to continue
using the pool field.
Let parents know NOT to exit the parking lot by
Gilbertsville Road – they will get a ticket. We may want to put
cones or cinder blocks to prevent people from exiting that way.
The shed at the pool field were wide opened. Nothing
was taken, we will change the locks just to be safe.
Needed purchases: guideline markers, 4-6 helmets for
coaches, legion approved balls @ $25 a dozen – motion by Jason,
seconded by John.
Child Abuse Clearances – keep on top of the people who
need them.
Motion to adjourn by Todd @ 8:47, seconded by
Jason.
Next meeting – May 6th @ 7pm in Room
3 of the High School.
