September 2, 2008

Meeting called to order by Todd @7:12

There were 7 board members and 2 non-board members present.

Rick accepted last months minutes, seconded by John.

Jason accepted the Treasurers report, seconded by Rick.

Bills to pay: 2 liners, 2 scoops for the bases and 2 sets of plugs for the bases were purchased.

League Reports

Senior Legion

v     Jason Feather resigned as head coach.

Senior Babe

v     We need the remaining uniforms from Jim. Jason made a motion  to send a bill to the families who have not returned their uniforms, seconded by Howard.

Junior Legion

v     League meeting on 9/17

v     Missing one uniform

v     We need dirt for the field – if PBO purchases, George will take care of putting it on the field.

Babe Ruth

v     Missing one uniform

13-Year Old Prep

v     Missing one uniform

v     The team will need a coach for next year

Bills will be generated for all unreturned uniforms.

Fundraising

v     Signs – discount for everyone who pays before 1/31/09 – Jason made a motion and John seconded. All in favor.

New Business

v     Snack bar was looted again – food and drinks were missing. The police were called. The back doors need to be secured better. Todd will give the police a list of names of people authorized to be in the snack bar. Keys will be give out on an AS NEEDED basis. Every year after the last game of the season, new keys will be made. One for the season, new one for fall ball and new for the next season – motion by John, seconded by Howard. Currently the only people with keys are: Todd, John, Howard, Rick and Bob.

v     Suggestion for next year, coaches sign on a clip board before locking up. Motion was made by George, we will wait to discuss it further if it becomes necessary.

v     Fall Ball – Bob Wehr will coach and run fall ball. Currently we have 11 players with 2 more coming. They will get t-shirts, socks and hats. Todd will order 15 of everything – simple maroon shirts with Grove. Fees will be $65.00 per player. Umpire fees – not sure about rates yet. Strohecker will have money for umpires instead of paying each umpire at the start of the games. There will be 15 or so games, each team pays ½ of the umpire fees – they are split between the two teams. They will need baseballs. The first games are 9/6 & 9/7. Bob will need his Child Abuse clearances.

v     Todd is looking into cheaper insurance for the league – all were in favor.

v     Nominations for board members and officers will be next month. The vote will be in December.
